Choose the Right Transformer

Enter the number of lights and watts per light. If your lights have different wattages, use the second group too. We'll add their loads and suggest a transformer.

Example: 8 lights × 4W plus 4 lights × 5W = 52W total. The smallest listed option is 100W.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install the lighting kit myself?

Yes. Our 12V low-voltage lighting kits are designed for straightforward DIY installation. Place the fixtures, connect the low-voltage cables, and connect the transformer to a suitable outdoor GFCI-protected outlet. Always follow the included instructions and applicable local electrical requirements.

How do I choose the right landscape lighting kit?

Choose a kit based on the size of your outdoor space, the areas you want to illuminate, and the number of fixtures needed. Smaller kits work well for entryways and short walkways, while larger kits are better for longer paths, multiple trees, and larger front yards.

What is included in a landscape lighting kit?

Kit contents vary by model, but most complete kits include landscape light fixtures, compatible LED bulbs, a low-voltage transformer, wire or connecting cables, and the necessary installation accessories. Please review the “What’s Included” section on each product page for exact quantities and specifications.

How far apart should I place the lights?

Path lights are generally spaced about 6–8 feet apart for balanced illumination. Spotlight placement depends on the size and location of trees, walls, and architectural features. Final spacing may vary based on fixture brightness and the lighting effect you want to create.

Where should the transformer be installed?

Install the transformer near a suitable outdoor electrical outlet in a location protected from standing water. For simpler wire routing, place it close to the first lighting fixture whenever possible. Follow the transformer’s installation and clearance instructions.

Can I add more lights to the system later?

Many systems can be expanded with compatible fixtures and cables, provided the total wattage stays within the transformer’s supported capacity and the wire gauge is suitable for the total load and run length. Check your system specifications before adding more lights.

Can all fixtures be installed on one side of a walkway?

Yes. A single-side layout often provides attractive, balanced illumination while making cable routing easier. It can also help avoid running wire across a walkway or driveway.

Are the LED bulbs replaceable?

Many of our kits use replaceable MR16 or G4 LED bulbs, making it easier to maintain the system or adjust brightness in the future. Bulb type varies by fixture, so please check the individual kit specifications before purchasing replacement bulbs.

Why Choose a Complete Kit?

Buying a complete kit reduces guesswork, and ensure your lights, bulbs, transformer, and cables work together as one system.

Need Help Choosing the Right Kit?

Use yard size, walkway length, and the number of trees or architectural features you want to highlight to choose the right setup.
